Single() would throw if there’s 0 or 2+ items. Exactly 1 expected.

SingleOrDefault() would throw if there are 2+ items.

First() would throw if there REMAINS 0 item. You could be at the beginning or middle of a sequence.

FirstOrDefault() would not throw.
